Found Tennessee Technological University that had it successfully installed and running on XP Pro. Mansfield Univ indicates they tried 7 which was a no-go, but 8 is okay.
Requirements on their site list up until 2000. From what I have seen, most (and I use that loosely) is the same in terms of, if it works in 2K it should be okay with XP. I bet many will correct me if I am wrong, but it is a lot more similar 2K to XP than 98 to 2K.
In addition, there is also and often overlooked compatability layer that XP can run to successfully allow an otherwise unrunable (word?!) program to run (this is how I get NFS:PU to work). No, "MAC" or "Linux/Unix" are not compatability options. Therefore, try to install it. Worse case scenario is it will not install. Then you have your answer immediately. Next worse is it installs but won't boot. If that is the case, go to the shortcut, right click properties, then go to the second or third tab for compatability mode. Choose 98, and away you go. Best case, install and it works without a hitch.
(Please note: Yes, I too can go on and on about why the above is true; 2K/XP built on NT technology, etc., etc.)
Good luck!
