Recollections of the fine print..... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Putting to the test!, Dick in Falls Church, Mon, 8 Nov 2004 21:35:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I received a postcard a couple of weeks ago for this service and it is from SaabUSA, not the Dealer. Only certain model years are included (I believe it is 1999 thru 2002) so I wonder if there is an another motive for this other than customer relations, (i.e. searching for signs of premature engine wear prior to announcing a recall, etc.)
The card specifies that only Exxon-Mobil products will be used. The oil will be per Saab's recommendations for the particular year and model! Although they mention full synthetic in this caveat, they also mention semi-synthetic, and possibly full mineral oil, (post card is in my glove box and I am trying to remember what is printed on it).
I plan on calling my Dealer to schedule an appointment, but will ask first what type of oil is specified for my 2000 lpt as part of this program.
