Best winterizing you can do is just ride it once a month or so for about 15 minutes at least, and put the battery on a trickle charger. Riding it will get the condensation out of the oil/pipes, circulate the oil, charge the battery, and wake you up real nice in the cold.

If you're determined, at minimum I would trickle charge the battery (on the bike is okay), put some gasoline extender stuff in the tank and run the bike a few minutes to get the stuff into the system, keep the tank full (an empty tank can have residual condensation and start some rust); cover the bike but only if your cover has ventilation (the battery can throw off gas that collects). Real crazies pull the spark plugs and put a tbl. of oil in the cylinder (why, I don't know, I've only read about it) and put some stuff on the chrome, like vaseline, to prevent rust, I guess. A good cleaning would'nt hurt, either, with the paint.

I personally just find time to ride it. I'm in Chicago and always manage to get in at least one ride a month during winter.
