MY brother has a '97 900. The four cylinder engines seem to be very stout and are quite reliable. Saab need owners who will make sure that their oil is changed regularly, and that other maintenance is performed when scheduled. If those things are done, then Saabs are great cars. I doubt you could find a better deal than a mid-90's Saab....and Safety is second to none. I have a '93 9000 and love it. My parents have over 200,000 miles (320,000Km) on their '92 9000S (2.3L non-turbo) and it has been nothing but a great car.
