I couldn't repair it as fast as it broke down Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Mon, 10 Jan 2005 08:47:18 In Reply to: Wow you actually owned a Saab 600!, Scott Paterson [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 9 Jan 2005 23:14:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
But it was a fun little car to drive. Definitely designed by an Italien sports car manufacturer.
Now I kick myself not taking any photos of it since they seem to be difficult to find on the net (except the two you keep here).
I liked the look of the Audi Quattro and this was a miniatyr look alike of it.
The last repair I did was to replace a front brake calipers, and laying in the snow at night at a junk yard I found out the hard way that the caliper bolts were 5 sided instead of the regular six sided Allen bolts.
It was absolutly no reason except making it harder for DIY people to use 5 sided bolts in that application since the next bolt holding the whole caliper mounting bracket to steering knuckle was a regular hex bolt. But you had to get the caliper off before you could get to the easy bolt, sigh.
At the junk yard is also were I found out that Saab had decided to take the cars off the street.
It was three of them sitting there in line and all three were in better shape than mine.
I asked if I could a whole car but nooo. The guy said that, yeah, as soon as the dealer trade one in it goes straight to the junk yard never to be back on the road again.
In Sweden, a salvage title is actually a salvage title.
