getting it ready for the coming snow tonight in boston and it will start and run, but when i start the auger, it boggs down. after a little time, it will finally take the load of the auger, but when i start pushing through snow, it boggs down and wants to die. two things keep it from completely cutting out: 1. let of on the drive wheels and allow the auger to blow all snow in the catch, then move slowly fwd again. 2. if i pump the small fuel ball (for starting) it seems to give it the extra fuel it needs.
i think it is fuel related. i tried tinkering with the carb adjustment and seemed to help a little, but not completely, still wants to die if i push through the snow too quickly, even on the lowest setting. i also increased the running rpm, this helped a little bit.
other than try to find the filter and see if it is clean, any other recommendations on getting it to take the load? it is a craftsman w/9" impeller. not real old. any thoughts? thanks.
