In the Nashua Telegraph today there was a short piece saying the search has been called off. Bob is apparently self-employed, lives alone, has no family in the area, and has not been reported missing.
The car was found in the Presidential Range where the weather can get pretty nasty. He could well have gone off into the mountains and gotten in trouble. This happens a few times each winter, and there are deaths every year. There are a lot of places to go, the terrain can be very challenging. Even well-prepared hikers get into life-threatening trouble in winter, as the weather can change rapidly. According the site linked in another post, he was possibly going to Garfield, then Galehead (by Mt. Washington), which is some rough country, and it's easy to get off-trail in winter. I hope he's OK, but I don't hold out much hope since it's been a couple of weeks. :-(
