I swear Mittens thinks she's a dog...she comes when I call her, begs on command...and oddly enough has a penchant for just chilling on her hind legs for no particular reason. But needless to say, she's a great cat. She was from a breeder, but I'd definitely recommend going to the local ASPCA and saving a stray. Short haired cats are way less work and don't leave fist-sized clumps of hair everywhere. They usually don't puke up as many hairballs, but Mittens doesn't have that problem and she's got crazy long hair. Also, cats with 6 toes on each foot are little bit heavy when they're walking across your stomach...ask me how I know.
