Getting someone to give up their Saab...

I went to my dad's hangar yesterday and looked around. His company shares the hangar with other companies in town. There is a Citation S/II (ours), a Lear 45, a Sabreliner and a couple of 210s. Anyway, a guy my dad knows, the pilot of the Lear was just leaving in a beat up old 626 coupe. My dad said hi, introduced me, and asked if he knew whose Saab that was outside. He said it was his and it needed some parts. It had been sitting in front of the hangar for months. He said he would never get rid of it. The car is an 86 900S notchback! It is pristine, glossy original black paint, with perfect SPG wheels on it. It's a 5-speed and looks good! I really want it, but how should I go about convincing him to sell it to me without letting on how much I am jonesing for it?
