Bummer. He was a weird guy in many ways (like shooting televisions for fun)... but his novel, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" was very inspiring to me as an English major and made me want to write. So far I've got a 40 page outline for a novel completed and the next one is coming together in my head pretty well... Fear and Loathing was definitely one of the books that made me find time to write.
