Its not the same engine. Its a new engine that was introduced in 2003 on the SS.
The name Sport Hatch was never official, and even the concept pics looked similar to how the final production model will be.

Its not called the SportHatch, and Saab is not intending it to be a hatch. The general public (beside you, me and a lot of TSNers) don't want a like my 900 or 9000. The SportWagon is big (look at Mazda, MB, BMW, etc) and thats whats going to sell.
My only question is what would make people want to buy the SportCombi over the 9-2x? Both are essentially wagons, both are smaller than the 9-5 wagon and both are Saabs. With the SportCombi, you lose AWD and gain a better interior. People that have the 9-2x absolutely adore them. Won't this take away from 9-2X sales (or vice versa) or is the 9-2X going to be cut?
