Questionable about Saabs too though

Why are people not driving Saabs more often? I got my Aero last year and already I have had to take it in twice for warranty work. It is a 2001 with 32,000 miles. It is hard for me owning my car because the nearest Saab dealership is 3 hours away. I need to have my 30,000 mile tune-up and so I have to take another day off work to get that taken care of on top of changing my brake pads and rotors. I'm also frightened of the dreaded DI cassette failing on me randomly and remotely in the desert.
My parents, are die hard, Japanese car owners. They just are unfamiliar with European cars. They have owned a Maxima in California that ended at 280,000 miles, my uncle has a maxima still running at 240,000 miles. We had a Honda that lasted to 180,000 and the only reason it died was because my dad wrecked it in a horrific accident. Currently they own an Avalon and bought it brand new in 2001 and has NEVER had to take it in for warranty work. It has a strong engine, smooth ride, but it suits them because they are small people. The mileage on Japanese cars are pretty good too. In high school I had a corrola that had over 150,000 miles and was still running strong until I also got a maxima that I killed un-intentionally.
I don't know, I love my Saab, but it just makes me wonder....why if Saabs are affordable as those high end Japanese cars that more people aren't driving them? I'm not defending either the Saabs or the Japanese cars, my point is that Japanese cars aren't bad either.
