...had a new Maytag installed...we had a reason to call service after a short time and he fixed it quickly...he confessed that their service has been outsourced (at least here in Los Angeles) and the repair guy had no reason to cover their a$$...so he was quite candid...
Not related to your issue, but a general rule (is there a web site for this kinda stuff???)
Running a DW while away is a disaster waiting to happen, if there is a leak...either water flowing onto the floor and warping everything or dripping down through the structure.
While the manufacturers would like you to think otherwise, run the DW when you are around...period. And run hot water though the kitchen faucet before you run the DW...it gets really hot H2O into the pipes and helps considerably in the drying cycle (no joke!).
