Did you buy a BOV or a BPV?..... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 14 Mar 2005 03:31:51 In Reply to: Saab & aftermarket BOV's, Brandon Kowalski, Sun, 13 Mar 2005 20:05:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I believe your car probably came equipped with a By-Pass Valve (BPV), not a Blow-Off Valve (BOV), although the BOV name seems to be commonly used for each style.
If you installed a BOV, and your car has a Trionic engine management system (Trionic 5?), I think it simply won't work. You will need to reinstall a BPV, either original equipment or aftermarket.
How did you install the valve (using end port or side port for pressure in)? What springs are you using in the valve if they are interchangeable?
The Performance Board will probably be your best source of info for this problem.
