I grew up on the country side, had my own hunting dog, shot guns and rifle, trying to be what dad wanted me to be. Loved to stand out in the middle of nowhere and listen to my dog, taking a guess where would be the best place to run to, to intercept with the chase.

Most of the time you guessed wrong and the animal took another route and survived.
A very few times did I manage to shoot and get it, being a hare, fox or moose but never really cared for or got used to taking care of the animal afterwards and dress it.
As I grew older I started to dislike it more and more (after the shot) and finally I just didn't want to do it anymore.

Last week I was laughing at myself bending over to rescue some earth worms that had gotten flooded out of the ground and the sun started to come up. I carefully lifted them up and took them over to the flower bed, thinking I would not even be able to thread a worm up on a fishing hook anymore.

I love target shooting but it has to be accuracy, I resent the "blowing up things" philosophy that seem to be very popular among americans I have met during my years here.

I became a regiment master marksman during the military and did a lot of long range rifle and short range sub machine target shooting and in civilian life shot skeet, rolling moose (don't know the english term for this if it is one) and hunting trails.

I like and respect guns but don't own any now and don't know if I will buy any.

I tried to import my guns from Sweden of sentimental values but the legal hurdles was just to steep having to get an export license from Swedish military and police and an import license from ATF here in America.

I beleive in that it is the finger that pulls the trigger and the parent that didn't lock up the gun that is to blame, not the manufacturer of the gun.
My dad taught me right and wrong about guns from when I was very little.
Wrong gun handling made your behind hurt, like when trying to "pick the lock" of the gun safe.
