Need electrical engineering help...

I've been trying for one year now to eliminate the whine in my stereo system.
My latest attempts have been to ground all components to one common ground which then goes to the battery. I also installed a RCA ground loop eliminator which did help but not eliminate the noise. I have tried a ground loop isolator on the power wire but did not do anything.
I'm down to two last guesses.
Since I moved the battery to the trunk, the power wires are running by one of the amps and right next to the RCA cables and speaker wires.
1a. Does the power wire conduct noise to just the RCA wires or will the speaker wires pick up noise as well?
1b. How far away do the speaker and RCA cables need to be from the power wires?
1c. Will running the power wires down the side of the car and the stereo wires down the middle of the car be far enough away?
Since I moved the battery to the trunk. I have the power wire going down the right side of the car and the ground wire going down the left side of the car.
2. Will this cause more EMI than running both together?
Could I just have a bad component? I don't really wanna spend a ton of money on new amps or a new head unit just to test and see.
