Two cell phone "incidents" at lunch.

Coming back from lunch today I saw two "incidents". The first one was an elderly man, talking on the phone very enthusiastically, comes very close to rear ending me at the stop light. Luckily, I leave enough space in front to give myself a little bit of a buffer.
The second, the signal turns red and I come to a stop at the intersection. The lane next to me was empty, until this guy, talking on his cellphone, driving a white escort blows right through the light. Luckily the people who had the green, probably saw that this guy wasn't going to stop and they hesitated. It could have been ugly.
My rule for myself and cell phones are that I try to use the hands free headset at all times. When I dont' have it, I don't answer the phone or make phone calls. Plus, I have to manually shift gears, so I don't have a third hand to hold up the phone. SoCal traffic is already crazy, when you throw in cell phones/DVD players/coffee into the mix, it's downright insane at times.
Just my 2 cents.
Ivan
