I just did 3 installs for my Roady2 and here's the story.


1990 SPG - antenna on the dash under a carpet dashmat. Works pretty darn well. A few places will cut out like under some overpasses. wire goes down speaker hole into the dash. I have an aftermarket head unit with "aux in", so overall XM fidelity is best in this car.

1994 C900TC Comm Ed - antenna on the dash under a dashamat (keeping it crack free!!!). This setup goes into the delphi fm modulator which sounds pretty darn good.

2001 9-3 - on the roof behind the sharkfin onstar antenna. best results for reception. the Scoshe (sp?) fm modulator from Crutchfield I put in for the XM and my wife's Creative Zen (like iPod) is the worst fidelity of the 3 installs. I hear FM hash and it's just not "locked in" or something. The delphi in the 94 vert has NONE of this. I'm tempted to rip it out and try another modulator... Make sure you get a set of the euro style (vw/audi/euro) antenna hookups if the NG radio wires are like the 9-3 wires!

What are your XM faves? I love Fred. My backups are Lucy, Ethel, Fungus, X Country, and whichever channel is playing a Cleveland Indians game.
