I on the other hand do not deal well with car dealer/salespeople. I have only found one that I think is worth the powder and lead it would take to blow him up, and I deal with him only. When you can find one that treats you well, you need to stick with them. In the meantime, since the warranty doesn't specifically exclude the ECU, I would be on the phone telling them they owe me 400 bucks! Do not let them get away with this either as this is how these companies make their money. Some nice Joe like yourself just wants to get the dealer off of his back makes a deal and that is the end of it. Believe me, the dealer will most likely try to subrogate his labor costs with the warranty company, so why shouldn't you get yours as well? It may just take a cool head and a few papers to fill out and in a few weeks you have your money back. I think it would be worth a try.
