Norton Ghost 9.0, Again

Well I successfully switched the HD on my laptop from a 40 GB to a 80 GB last week. Although it took one sleepless Friday night. For some reason not known to me I can not ghost the HD image to either the network in the office or that at home. So I burned the image, OS and software installations only (15 GB), to the CD-R. Pulled the old HD to install new and restored.
The Ghost I bought from this mail order outlet has this label saying it is for sale in the Middle East and Africa. Semantec probably thinks there is no computer network in that area so did not package the feature. Either that or my laptop belongs to a client's domain I do not have sufficient access privileges required for either the office network or home. I have sent Semantec an inquiry about this issue and is awaiting their reply.
Yesterday, I tried ghosting the new HD image again. This time with the OS, applications and data files totaling 30 GB. Big mistake. It took about 30 to 35 CD's, compared to 14 last week. The process failed during burning of the 27th CD. At about 11 minutes per CD, I lost about 5 hours of productivity.
The lesson? Do not ghost such a large image to CD's? Or find a better product?
