annual percentage rate for the duration of the loan and not the initial teaser rate for 6 months then goes back to prime + points kind of deal.
I have never figured out how credit card companies compute finance charges nor would they can ever can explain it simply. I really don't trust anything a credit card company has to offer, read the extremely fine print and call the company and see if anyone can give you a payment stream for the during of the loan.
If you can indeed get a fixed 1.9% APR loan for the duration of the loan, as OKSaabs said, that's better than your home equity loan unless you are way up in the AMT (alternate minimum tax) category. Even if you are being taxed at a hefty 50% rate, 6%/2 is still 3%. So it is a no brainer to have a 1.9%.
