But that goes for hydraulic shock absorbers too or sodium filled exhaust valves.
I have thought about it but haven't dared yet to drill a hole in the accumulator to see how much pressure is left.
If you think about how many strange parts the auto recycling industry receives and crunches up without even a hickup I don't think you need to worry.
If you put it in the household recycler I can't answer.
