'06 is a sweet deal.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Need clarification on European delivery., ca, Wed, 24 Aug 2005 00:01:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Used to be that US only incentives that aren't availible on Eurpean Deliveries took some of the luster out of it, but now with the new lower pricing and the theoretical lack of incentives 2006 Saabs will be an outstnading value across the model line.
And Saab just started offering financing on European deliveries, even for Californian's. The rates ain't all that great, but you can always refinance later at your credit union or internet loan source. Still no leasing though.
1. You won't find dealers weaseling on the European Delivery prices. It's a fixed price program if ever there was such a thing.
2. You pay California tax and license when you pick up the car from your local dealer. No tax in Sweden, a small charge for export plates and insurance.
3. The dealer should detail the car for you and "re-deliver" it, all at no charge.
4. How big is your party? I would imagine that a room for a family would be OK, but guests might have to pay for their own room.
5. You're a short days drive from the continent. Where do you wanna' go and whaddaya' wanna' see? You can be in Venice or Paris, two popular spots, in two days without pushing it. How much time will you have? I had a real kick at the Tivoli Gardens, the 165 year old theme park in Copenhagen that was Walt Disney's model for Disneyland, which is in Copenhagen the first city you come to on the European continent, about 5 hours south of Gothenberg. Gothenberg is a nice town too. Take the canal and harbor tour. I really enjoyed the worlds largest ship museum on the harbor in Gothenbeg. We also saw a ballet at the beatuiful Gothenberg Opera House. If for some reason you can't get into the Ronnum Manor near the factory where Saab usually puts you up, then the back up is the Hotel Eggers in downtown Gothenberg which is right in the heart of the city and easy walking everywhere. I really enjoyed Gothenberg as much as any European city I've been in.
