The K5, I believe, is the smallest one. While I still prefer it to a similar sized Definitive speaker, it's hardly an apples-to-apples comparison between that and the Mythos series, which almost all use dual woofers (sometimes quad). I like much larger satellites than the K5 (regardless of brand) for dynamics, efficiency, and power handling reasons. But if you prefer the sound of the Mythos as compared to others which fit your needed size style, that's all that matters!
1800 square feet with high ceilings is a huge volume to fill, but the fact that you have no doors in the theater room (how many openings?) doesn't necessarily mean having that semi-enclosed space will the same as a room of 1800 square feet with no walls whatsoever. However, your situation could definitely work to your advantage though, because otherwise, that subwoofer in an 11 x 14 enclosed room is going to make you deaf in short order. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but anyone wanting to retreat from the sound of the boom boom boom is going to need to retreat to the neighbors' house, or at least outside. :)
