I was informed yesterday that my job assignment is changing effective with the first of the new year. I will have sole responsibility for implementing a Facility Asset Management Data Collestion System for all of GM's facilities across the globe. The goal is to collect global information to determine the most appropriate location to spend ever shrinking dollars to upgrade manufacturing and office facilities.
GM already has this type of info for all of their US and Canadian locations, and is expanding that effort into Europe. My task is to accelerate the European effort and also add Latin America, Africa, and Asia/Pacific facilities.
My request is for assistance in identifying firms in areas other than the US which specialize in such studies. Obviously I will be hiring more than one company to assist in this effort (I will consider myself very lucky if I can limit the list of firms to one per continent!), but for the sake of data uniformity and consistency, the fewest number of companies is best. Firms covering diverse geographic areas, or those with pre-established partnerships are ideal.
Since this is a truly international forum, I thought I would ask here for names of candidate companies (with contact information) to be forwarded to me at my included e-mail address. I plan on conducting 2 or 3 rounds of pre-qualifications on these firms prior to soliciting bids for the services. I have already started my own search effort (Internet, Professional Organizations, etc.), and I plan on doing my own very thorough search, but most of what I found during a brief period yesterday were US based.
Thanks in advance. I look forward to reading your messages from across the globe!
