These are the three technologies for rear projection sets with replaceable lamps. IMHO LCD is the least desireable of the three and LCoS the most desireable. I just chose the new Sony SXRD set which uses Sony's version of LCoS technology. (KDS-R50XBR1) It is available in 50" ($4000 list) and 60" ($5000 list). Yes, that is more $$$ than LCD or DLP but the picture quality justifies it. Do not buy a new set without seeing this one.
BTW the best picture I have ever seen is in the Sony Qualia 06 70" rear projector which uses a larger and smoother version of the SXRD technology in the new 50" and 60". But DO NOT look at this one unless you are prepared to spend $13,000!
I believe Samsung sets use DLP technology.
