Should I move to NYC for a year?

I sometimes think to myself I only get to live once, why miss out on some of the great experiences of life? I am getting married in July, and my fiance' and I were in NYC this past weekend in the diamond district looking at wedding bands, etc. Anyways, I currently live in Mass and work in Boston, which is fine. But, we were talking about how much fun it would be to live in NYC for a year. I don't think I would stay longer than that because I love having a yard and property, but I think it would be really fun for a year just to do it. I know it is expensive, but she is an elementary school teacher and could probably get a job pretty easily. I am sure I could find a job as well, I bet between the two of us we could probabaly survive OK in a 1br manhattan apartment, nothing too fancy.
Anyways, I'm just curious on what everyone's opinions might be. I would never, ever even consider raising a family there, (which is probabaly at least 4-5 years away, anyways), and when I am older I won't do it, so it is kind of a "now or never" thing.
Plus, I could save money foregoing the car, although I really would miss my Saab.
