3 ways to get out.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: For Mike Lynch, Jonathan, Tue, 7 Mar 2006 20:32:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
First way is to pay the remaining payments, 24 x $474 = $11,376, ouch, and then see if Saab has the heart not to charge you the disposition fee $350 and any excess wear and tear.
Second way is to call Saab Financial for a payoff and then offer the car to your local Saab dealer. A dealer might pay around $20k for the car, what's the payoff? The difference between the payoff and a dealers offer for the car might be less than the $11k ish.
Third way is to try the lease swapping sites. You could offer some one $3k cash to take over your lease and still come up smelling like a rose. I poo-poo'd the lease swapping sites at first, but I have had several folks have good luck with them, buying and selling. Lotsa' folks are only gonna' be somewhere for a couple years and it make sense to take over someones lease. And as I mentioned you could sweeten the pot and still be way ahead.
