I would say that there is a larger percent of Saab convertible owners who where simply looking for a convertible first and the fact that it was a Saab was secondary.
By taking to various Saab owners over the years, I found more sedan and hatchback owners set out to buy a Saab, either because they already had a Saab, had a freind who had a Saab, or had researched the various cars and wanted the specific features that Saab offered.
On the other hand, I found that more Saab convertible owners just wanted a convertible and the Saab was available. After having a Saab for awhile they become Saab fans and are likly to buy Saab again.
