...Most streets and roads in America are not flat, but ROUND. That allows for water to run off. That means we all need to slightly angle our tires to the left in order to drive straight. Without rotation the outer portiion of the front passenger's tire and inner portion of the front driver's tire will wear more quickly. Rotation (especially on non-directional tires), allows this fundamental difference to be corrected, INCREASING overall life of BOTH tires, as all rubber has a chance to be consumed rather than just 1/2 of each tire being used.
I am sure your car is in great mechanical shape SMK2, but no way you have adjusted alignment for street design. You therefore will by necessity wear improperly without alignment.
