This is not designed to benefit the consumer. Even if you managed to only pay the 9.9% for 18 months that would be $519.75. There is a problem with this, however. The CC companies are required to have you pay down some principal in addition to the interest in each month’s minimum payment. So you have two choices for keeping your balance above $3,500. Either start with a bigger balance or add to the balance as needed. The amount of time it would take to get this right and the money you pay in interest make this a losing proposition. Besides, you don’t get the computer you want and that $800 value could still be old specs using Dell’s inflated prices as opposed to what they really sell/sold for. A better deal would be to get it from Dell directly with some coupons, discounts, etc, and if necessary finance the darn thing through Dell.
