How to unseize a 2 stroke engine question...

...3HP marine outboard engine I just picked up for the price of gas and tolls.
Any ideas on how to do this without brute force?
Otherwise I am thinking about removing the plug and pouring in Marvel Mystery Oil. I will let sit for several days and then try to pull the head and tap the piston with a haevy wood dowel. My guess is that the prior owner ran without 2 stroke oil, but the engine had a history of a prior seize before that, where a mechanic supposedly just freed it up and it worked fine.
