I use a one gal glass jar with screw top. This must be able to be closed tightly.
Ingrediants:
2 quarts berries(wild if you can get them)
2 quarts cheap Vodka(or Stoli ifin you got the cash)
Combine the two in the jar, cover and set in the Sun for 40 days. Yes, 40.
After 40 days, strain through cheese cloth into another container. Here you can squish the berries for more shrub or save them as a snack ;)
The berries will come out snow white!!
Next we make a 'simple syrup'
Mix 3 cups reg. sugar with 1.5 cups H2o, heat with very low heat until sugar is dissolved and blend into shrub.
Have some bottles set aside for storage. No need to refrig as this stuff will last for years.
Try it over ice or with ginger-ale or to fuel your home-made rockets.
NOTE!! This stuff retains the alcohol % (40%/50%/55%) Be fore-warned
And enjoy
If you have any ??? feel free to E-me.
(Not responsible for the deliberate mis-use of this concoction)
