If no resolution (or clear progress) by end of day on Friday I will be visiting an attorney on Monday for just this purpose. My current thoughts are to include the following in the claim of damages:
Full price of car
Sales taxes paid
Mandatory fees paid
Price of added Saab parts (cost to remove roof rails and install mud flaps)
Cost of Loan Payments made to date since they were almost all interest
Cost of Auto Insurance paid to date
30 days of typical auto rental fees to compensate us for the time necessary to purchase a new car
All legal costs
and possible other items
Tomorrow will be two weeks since I brought this issue to their attention, and other than providing us with a less-than-equivalent loaner (which I now suspect was done as a CYA move on their part since they screwed up so bad and not as a customer relations move) no progress has been made.
Lots of hollow promises and excuses but nothing else. The office manager called late yesterday afternoon to inform me that GMAC still hadn't received the Duplicate Title they were to request as an expedited document on Friday! I am not clear how a duplicate title requested by GMAC and then over-nighted to the Dealership fits in the scheme of providing me with proper registration. Is GMAC signing off on ownership of my 9-3SC on the duplicate yet retaining ownership on the original title to cover themselves if things don't happen as they should? Has the Dealership already foolishly transfered title of the 9-7X to GMAC (which GMAC is due) and therefore lost all leverage of making GMAC act quickly on my problem?
Far too much incompetence and apathy by too many people. It appears resolution of this problem may require the courts!
