You can literally choose to connect drives through that, pull up the desktop on your client machine and see your drives mapped under My Computer. You connect by either IP address or computer name. It's under All Programs > Accessories > Communications.
Once that's open, there's some configuration values under the Local Resources tab that you can select as far as bringing sounds, drives and printers forward to that machine...along with display settings.
Very useful tool as I use it on a daily basis to connect to servers on an offsite location, client machines in the office to troubleshoot...etc.
And as far as iTunes, you can always choose to share your music collection and then have iTunes on another machine on your network just syndicated the music that's on there.
