Hi all,
We bought our 1st house almost a year ago. We had a home warranty program that was paid for by the previous owner to cover anything that may happen while we were going through closing period.
I actually used it last winter when the expansion tank and pressure relief valve on our boiler system went south. Paid $350 dollars on the repair which covered everything but $10.
I just got the renewal package. Basic coverage is $499. Seeing how it almost paid for itself last year (although I didn't pay for it!) I'm thinking it's not a bad thing to have on a 106 year old house. Below is a list of covered items:
Heating system, AC, Internal plumbing, Water heater, Internal Electrical, Dishwasher, Garbage disposal, Built in Microwave, Trash Compactor, Range, Exhaust fans, Washer & Dryer, Ceiling & Attic fans, Telephone wiring, Refrigerator, Sump pump, Polybutene tubing
The house has most of these items.
Anyone else have a similar plan? Is it worth it?
Opinions please experienced homeowners....
Thanks in advance,
Todd
