Well in that case there might be a chance. But there are still issues beyond the money--and ultimately more important
Is there enough of an infrastructure left at Saab for it to become independent if GM were not there? This includes technical/product development, customer service, service training/support, financial services, sales training/support, manufacturing, distribution, the list goes on.
Is there sufficient market demand for an excellent, but quirky and nichy brand?
What would become of the shared GM-developed platforms and engines used on the 9-3? Any deal would have to involve licensing of those.
And there is still a profitability issue, in which investors would have more than a passing interest.
I could go on, but this is not a matter of mere capital. I don't mean to shoot down the idea, but this is hugely complex.
