you should, at a minimum, stop broadcasting the SSID and filter to only allow computers with the correct MAC addresses to run on your network. If the people in your neighboorhood can spoof MAC ID's, and are willing to monitor your traffic to decode them, you have a whole 'nother problem...
Also, if your WAP is capable of 802.11A and your computers are too, suggest you force all of the bits to only use 802.11A. It runs on a 5GHZ signal, 802.11B/G run on 2.9GHZ and is the more common of the two. If they don't have 802.11A capable equipment they can't see you at all. It's somewhat like the wireless phones, if you have an old 900Mhz or a newer 2.4Ghz, you won't get any interference with the newest 5Ghz phones.
You can also change the IP address of your wireless network, you should be able to limit the number of attachments, and you can select IP addresses rather than allow DHCP to give you the next available and force everyone to use an IP address that is only theirs.
Lastly, you can enable WEP or encode your transmissions in each direction.
technology, what a wonderful thing!
