That looks interesting... Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Wed, 31 Jan 2007 11:38:50 In Reply to: Passport 9500I Radar Detector, Dennis_MA, Wed, 31 Jan 2007 11:07:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I really like the GPS stuff on it and the variable speed feature! I think those will be really helpful.
The description never mentions anything about POP protection, but maybe I didn't read it thoroughly enough. For $450, it should have POP protection. Also, it doesn't state whether or not it has a rear-facing antenna for radar (it could, maybe just doesn't mention it). As I understood it when I was searching for one (bought a V1), you can't really have 360 degree protection with just a front-facing sensor. Again, it could have one, but just not mention it.
One thing I'll mention from my own experience is that the arrows and "bogey" counter on the Valentine 1 are amazingly helpful. I had an Escort before the V1 and I don't know how I got along without the them.
Other than that, it looks pretty good. I would wait to read some reviews and road-tests on it before buying it though...I would hate to pay that price and find out first hand that it really is just an 8500 with some very cool features!
