Gas lasts a lot longer than most people think, oil too. When I was a dealer I bought several cars that had sat for long periods--often outdoors. If you can pump the old gas out of the tank, do so and replace with fresh. I'm not sure what you'd do with the old stuff. Changing the oil wouldn't be bad either. Really, all you need to do is pull the plugs and crank the engine for a minute or so. Don't do it too long because your don't want to put a lot of raw gas into the engine. Put the plugs back in and fire it up. Let it idle until it gets completely warm (check for fluid leaks and other issues while doing so), it'll probably run pretty crappy. Now put it in gear and move it a little, back and forth in the driveway a few times, shift into and out of all the gears, step on the brakes hard a few times. Drive it around slowly for a bit and see how it sounds. Brake pads could hang up so stop and check for hot wheels after driving a little. Get it up to speed slowly and see how the trans shifts. Just take it easy, especially if running poorly-no full throttle/high rpm stuff. Chances are the more you drive it the better it will do-check all of the fluid levels frequently. You'll probably have some issues associated with siting so long, and they'll slowly make themselves know. Being a relatively new car and the fact it was in a garage should work in your favour.
