If I were scamming, I'd get as many people as I could to go to my fake site, and I'd collect all the passwords. I'd find which ones have PayPal, credit cards and gather any other personal info I could get at, knowing that people tend to use the same password for lots of things. On the fake site, I'd really focus on asking for the "security code" on the card. You have that and you are golden.
Then I'd wait a month or two, lest I raise any suspicions. While waiting, I'd find out the billing dates on the cards. Then I'd start tapping those credit card numbers for plane tickets, cameras, TVs, all kinds of stuff, just after the billing dates. That way the cardholder wouldn't find out for a while, and by the time he/she did the cards would be over limit and I'd have lots of stuff. The credit card company would eat the losses.
Do this with a few dozen (or a few hundred cards) and you have a nice little business.
