Who here is going top read the chapters on how to change a tire, how to insert the key in the ignition, how to open the door, etc...?
Who here is going to read about how to do a complete tranny rebuild unless he or she needs to rebuild the tranny?
Who here needs a manual to tell them how to remove a car seat or test a fuse?
So, we learn to make decisions about what we need. When my head gasket needed replacement on my 9000 turbo I read my Haynes and my Bentleys a few times. In the case of my Sonett needing new valve stem gaskets, I read nothing and just DIY'ed because I have serviced valve springs with heads on the car and the process is identical.
I am just not identifying with the premise that reading everything makes you an A+ student. It is all in the application of data and seeking out required data swiftly. Maybe I am wrong.
Best,
C
