I work in the tool rental industry, and deal with Honda engined equipment on a daily basis(I am the service tech). I have nothing but praise for Honda powered stuff > it gets abused by morons, and still starts and runs with little effort. I always make sure there is oil in the crank and a clean air filter, and they seem very reliable.
I can't say I've experienced that symptom on a Honda engine as of yet. The biggest problem I deal with is not being able to pull the starter cord because the customer has turned the machine upside down and the cylinder fills with oil > hydrolocking the engine. I assume you have pulled the spark plug?
I deal with MTA Distributors for parts manuals and service manuals, and ordering parts. I access their websie thru our intraweb, but I don't think they deal with the general public. I guess you can try calling them at 800-264-0225 and see if they will offer assistance.
I linked another site, which it looks like you can buy just about anything from them.
I guess you need to start taking things apart to determine what's wrong. Take pictures, as it may help in re-assembly.
