Here is a little history. Have had the car a year now. Currently has 41k on it. Back in April got caught in a flood. Insurance company opted to repair it. Ran fine for about 2 months and started idling really rough after starting and lost power steering. Took it into the dealer and they replaced the cat conv and found some small oil leaks and repaired those as well. For the last month and half it's been running great. Oil is changed every 4K miles, just had it changed last week and I check levels every time I fuel. Anyway last friday on my way to work, I had left the house drove about 12 miles no problems, no weird noises or smells. I made a right turn and heard a horrible crashing noise and heard like a bunch of metal hitting the street. All the lights came on and the car stopped and I coasted into an alley and called the tow service.
Today I talked to the dealership and they said it would be about 9,800 to fix but they can only use authorized parts so it would be cheaper to go the reconditioned parts.
So if anyone knows a mechanic in the DFW TX area they can recommend. I would appreciate it. I called T&M auto today and they seemed alright.
Thanks
Kevin
