First, try Googling "Technical Writer Certification". 2.5M hits came up.
Second, you already have the major foundation training with a B.A. in Communications.
Ideas: Contact your college; they may be able to point you in the right direction. Most schools are very helpful to alumni.
Contact your local school that offers engineering/science degree programs. They may offer the courses that could be helpful.
In my prior life (before retirement 2 years ago) I had technical writers on my staff. Communications and English degrees were the key door openers to move forward in a job interview. Specific courses in technical writing were not requirements for candidates I interviewed; at times experience level was a factor when I needed a more senior person.
Technical writers have to follow a highly structured style, and strong consistency in word and phrase usage. I had one of my writers create documentation standards to ensure this. All documents including specifications and procedures underwent peer review to ensure compliance.
