Polarizing survey results...... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 27 Sep 2007 03:30:22 In Reply to: Glad to hear sombody likes them., BobS, Mon, 24 Sep 2007 18:23:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had the Architectural and Space Planning group working for me in my previous job assignment.
This group conducted a chair survey by selecting 13 to 15 different desk chairs from the big name manufacturers, and requested volunteers to be part of the survey. Our list of willing volunteers was then pared down by job assignment, body style, etc., to get a representative sample of the entire work force and job assignment spectrum. Each volunteer was given one week to use each of the chairs, and then was asked to rate each chair on a number of factors.
The results were eye opening. The Aeron was the clear winner with a strong majority of the testers rating it as one of the top 2 or 3 chairs. The remaining testers all rated it dead last!
Even in the "cubicle farm" where I now work, where each person has an Aeron chair and one or two side chairs, a number of the workers use a wheeled side chair at their desk rather than the Aeron.
BTW - The Aeron comes in three sizes; small, medium, and large. Grasp the top rail of the chair at it's center and you will feel raised dots, similar to oversized Braille, on the rail surface facing the seat back mesh. Most chairs will have two dots meaning they are Medium sized. Petite and hearty sized persons who dislike the Aeron can request a Small or Large version of the chair which may eliminate their discomfort.
