as in any single-handed set up it's all in planning and layout. Back in my yacht charter and delivery days I single or short-handed boats up to about 40' and you mostly just have to think it through and get it the way that works for you.
A few thoughts:
The thing I think of with a J24 is that they are a bit tender in stronger winds, so you have to be able to reduce sail area easily, since you won't have 3 deck apes on the weather rail to hold the boat down.
You'd need to look at the routing of sheets and halyards so you can stay in the cockpit as much as possible. Shouldn't be too hard. But remember, the J24 has a pretty powerful genny, so a self-tailing winch would help for trimming. You also have to think about how to get the jib down easily when solo. If you won't be racing it, a roller furl might help. Not idea for sail shape, but you can roll it up w/out leaving the cockpit. Otherwise set up a jib downhaul that attaches to the halyard shackle and runs back to the cockpit. You loosen the halyard and pull on the down haul. The problem, though, as I recall, is that J's don't have any type of safety railings, so you'd have to find a way to keep the sail on the foredeck. A roller would alleviate that problem.
You might also want to think about the easiest way to get the main down and keep it contained. Lazy jacks work for this but add to chafe on the sail. Also look at how you'd reef the main. Not just a flattening reef, a real reef.
Should be a fun and quick boat to single hand, but just think it through. Not ideal for cruising more than a few days, but they are fun to sail.
