OK

Don't neglect the seats. Saab seats are stil decent although probably not as good as in the past as in say the 9000. Comfortable seats are a Saab feature even non-Saab owners associate with and mention about the car ("Oh you have one of those cars with the REALLY comfortable seats I see").

DUMP THE BLOODY CHROME TRIM. The designers talk about Scandanavian simplicity then they put this tacky chrome trime around the headlights on the 9-5 and now the fog light openings of the 9-3 as if they are from Pontiac or something. A number of non-Saab owners have commented on how the trim on my 2006 9-5 looks out of place and how it is otherwise a very sharp car. They are of course right; it DOES look completely out of place; isn't ingrated with the rest of the design, and spoils what is otherwise a very strong design.

Continue to offer 4 Cylinder turbos in the Areo level cars or at least with sport suspension and seats. The v6 is fine for those who want it but I'll take the extra mileage and the ligher front end thank you. Power in cars is really getting rather insane anyway (who needs 300+ HP) although many here undoubtedly disagree. I 260HP has all the power I'll every need; infact more.

Hatchback please. Sort of 9000 style rear-end reworked a bit or fastback like rear.

Visibilty. Please pay more attention to visablity. A lot of cars have become pretty bad. Even Saab has some issues. For example, I ruled the 9-3 SC out b/c of bad reward visibilty especially over the left shoulder. I probably would have bought one otherwise. There is no reason for a wagon like vehicle to have such bad visiblity. Also go with a nice curved windshield for good forward visibilty and avoid the tempation to use a steeply racked winshield.

Safety. Gotta have it. Push the envolope and innovate again in this area.

Handling. Gotta have it and braking too. Don't slip in this area and continue to improve it.

Dash. Look back to the typical Saab dash of the last few decades. Saabs done rather well in this area. Avoid the tacky looking silver painted instrument surrounds. The 2006+ instruements are not an improvement. Nothing screams tacky like silver plastic; even HP has stopped this with their computers and gone to basic black. Continue to have clean read outs as Saab always has (cars like Suburu, VW, Volvo all have terrible speeds for slight different reasons).

..... Oh this is going to get too long. Just have Saab call me. Basically look to the past while looking to the future. Saab owners were so loyal b/c Saab offered an inovative car that skillfully blended a number of great qualities.
