Any engine built after around ’72 is designed to run on unleaded. With an earlier engine, the primary problem will be with eroded exhaust valve seats. A very high performance engine might run into octane problems and detonation on unleaded fuel, but my guess is that Saab engine from the 60s/70s don’t fit that category. If you just putter around occasionally in an old car you’re not going to wear out the exhaust seats, but if you race the thing or run it really hard, you might. The good news is with a car that old the head has probably already been rebuilt with hardened seats, otherwise it’s pretty standard issue to add them at the time of a rebuild.
