...What the most advanced and industrialized nation in the World needs is an Autobahn type highway from East to West and from North to South.
How is it that we pioneered the asphalt and the cement paved road but we don't have easy uncongested roads to navigate?
Just from a conservation standpoint, a wide road without congestion would save 100's of millions of dollar in money/year and would save billions of tons of greenhouse gases from being generated by cars sitting in jams or stop and start conditions.
As conditions and roads are now, I agree that a Cannonball run is dangerous and stupid and reckless.
Personally and off on a tangent, I am looking into selling several of my faster cars to switch to biodiesel. This move will free up space, free up money used to purchase said gas, free up time I am using to tinker with my cars, and help the environment.
Best,
C
